Title page of v.1 bk. 1 includes an engraving of an instrument for measuring the ebb & flow of tides; v. 2 includes an illustration of a creature and "Orsa Minore".

Includes charts, diagrams, and volvelles.

First nautical chart by an Englishman, and first atlas with charts on Mercator projection.
