This point dataset shows the locations of oil and gas wells in the U.S. that are located in Rextag GIS Zone 2. Zone 2 includes Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia. Information in this layer is based on data provided by numerous sources in a variety of digital formats, collected at the state or county level. This layer is from the summer quarter update of 2014. The purpose of this file is to combine multiple oil and gas well data sources into one national file. This dataset is intended to assist users in locating and analyzing United States oil and gas field data and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
