Description:

This polygon shapefile contains statistics on residency, indigenous groups, and languages in Costa Rica taken from the X Censo Nacional de Población y VI de Vivienda 2011. The census information was collected between May and June of 2011 by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Costa Rica). The questionnaire and survey report for this census are included with this download. These data are intended for researchers, students, and policy makers for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production. This layer is presented in the WGS84 coordinate system for web display purposes. Downloadable data are provided in native coordinate system or projection.
