G [1720/1738] .M83 (book) California as a long, narrow island with indented northern coast. Land to northwest is labelled "Terra Borealis incognita detect. a Joh. de Gama". None found, but listed in "Price list nr.43, Maps on exhibition at the Boston Bookfair, Nov. 19-21, Booth 328, Paulus Swaen old maps and prints, a selection from our current stock, World and America, November 1994. Guadalcanal wrongly placed near west coast of South America. Vignette (lower left) shows 3 Europeans presenting open chest to native. In: Leben und Gewohnheiten der Ostjacken, eines Volcks dass bis unter dem Polo Arctico wohnet, wie selbiges aus dem Heydenthum in diesen Zeiten zur christl. griechischen Religion gebracht.
