Shows the southern celestial hemisphere from the equatorial pole at an angle to both the ecliptic and the equator. The earth is also inscribed, depicting view as if looking at earth through the celestial realm. Astronomers and their pupils in study and discussion look at the hemisphere. California is shown as a large island with rounded northern coastline, and with place names P. San Francisco Draco, P.d. Carinda, S. Marin, S. Clement, I. de Paxaros, I. de Seintas, and C.S.Lucas. This with accompanying chart of northern celestial hemisphere show Ptolemaic constellations, in addition to the non-Ptolemaic constellations of: Tycho Brahe (Coma Berenices and Antinous) and Petrus Plancius (Columbia Noachi, Camelopardalis, Monoceros, the rivers Jordanus and Tigris and others, and Keyzer (Indus, Pavo, and Piscis Volans). Title divided between 2 cartouches of banners hanging from winged horn players (or putti). (top left and right).'29' (bottom right).
