California shown as a labeled island with two large bays along its northern coast. Labeled interior points include Nova Albion, P. Draco. and NS de Guadalupe. Tracks of the explorers shown including Gaetani, Tasman, Dampier, and Magellan. Island to the east of Nova Guinea called Nova Britannia with a note of its discovery in 1700 by Dampier. Two large celestial hemispheres, two astronomical diagrams, wind heads and scenes depicting natural phenomena such as volcanoes, tides, and vortices surround the central map. Celestial hemispheres and panorama below map similar to Zürner’s map published ca. 1700 and entitled: Planisphaerium Terrestre Cum Utroque Ceolesti Hemisphaerio.
