California as an island with broad, indented northern coast; southern portion is elongated and narrow. All 4 maps untitled, but with pagination top right, within border. On sheet: Europe, [page]4, (top left); Asia, [page]5, (top right); Africa, [page]6, (bottom left); and America, [page]7, (bottom right). Issued in: Atlas methodicus explorandis juvenum profectibus in studio geographico ad Methodum Hübnerianam / accommodatus a Ioh. Bapt. Homanno [Johann Baptist Homann]. -- Norimbergæ, 1719. Printed in Latin and German. Cartography is very similar to hismuch larger map of [1710] and other German maps pf various sizes: Weigel's maps of 1725, Seutter's [1730] map, and Kilian's 1758 map.
