Abstract
Sanborn CitySets Newark Orthophoto Imagery is an orthophoto coverage for parts of Newark, New Jersey. Project areas contain multiple photographs that are color balanced and mosaicked for a seamless dataset. The files have a 6-inch pixel resolution.
Purpose
Orthophotos serve a variety of purposes for both display and analysis. This dataset can be used in conjunction with other Sanborn CitySets layers for Newark.
Supplemental Information
Elevated features (other than bridges), such as buildings, trees, and utility poles will appear to lean away from the center of each photograph. While the base of each structure is accurately placed, the tops of buildings may appear displaced from the accurate X, Y position. Therefore, building footprint polygons will line up with the base of a building, but not necessarily with the top of the building in the orthophoto imagery.
