Abstract
New York City Truck Routes is a line theme representing designated truck routes in New York City. Attribute information indicates the types of truck traffic permitted on various route segments, street name and segment length. The New York City designated truck routes map data are derived from maps and digital files produced by the NYC Department of Transportation. They are developed from, but do not perfectly align with the NYC DCP LION file. Data was realigned to the NYCMap basemap.
Purpose
Indicates designated truck routes. Most divided roads are represented with a single line.

Entity and Attribute Overview
The Local Truck Route Network is designated for trucks with an origin and destination for the purpose of delivery, loading or servicing within a borough. Trucks should only use non-designated routes for the purpose of accessing their destination. The Through Truck Route Network is primarily composed of major urban arterials and highways and must be used by trucks that have neither an origin or destination within the borough. Manhattan and Staten Island contain Limited Truck Zones (as depicted on the Truck Route Map) with special time and size restrictions. All commercial vehicles and trucks are prohibited from utilizing the Parkway system in New York City.
