Abstract
New York City Subway Stations, 2006 is a point theme representing New York City subway system stations. Attribute information includes station and line designations, along with ridership statistics. Ridership statistics are for average weekday, average Saturday, average Sunday, and annual totals. Subway data is checked and updated annually. The raw data for the files is from the New York State Department of Transportation. Files are provided in the projection NAD83 to align with the NYCMap basemap.
Purpose
The original New York City subway line and station data were intended to register reasonably well with existing NYC Department of City Planning base map data, e.g. the LION file or the tax block map. ComCarto/Halcrow has adjusted alignment to the NYCMap base. Ridership statistics (average daily and annual totals) are included in the Station attributes.
