Eritrea Level 2 Administrative Boundaries, 1996

This ARC/INFO polygon coverage contains the second Level administrative boundaries at a 1:1000000 scale. The coverage is part of the Famine Early Warning System (FEWS) / Associates in Rural Development (ARD) African series. It should be noted that due to the political and social upheaval that has occurred in Eritrea during the last 20 years it is difficult to trace the exact administrative boundaries. This data set is intended to give the user the best possible political units based on pre-independence Eritrea. Eritrea is associated with the Horn region in Africa.
