- South Africa Artificial-Surface Area, 2014 is a polygon theme representing the artificial surfaces in South Africa, including data about the surface type (cutting, digging, embankment, excavation, mine dump, mine dump top, open cast mine, salt works, slimes dam). The source material is a 1:50,000 topographical map series. The original shapefile was originally created in tiles and were merged together by Columbia Libraries, the original map sheet for each feature is included in the attribute table.
