United States Parks is a polygon theme representing parks and forests within the United States at national, state, and local levels. Attribute information includes the name, FCC code, and area of the park. This dataset is a part of the 2010 ESRI Data Maps collection.
Purpose
United States Parks provides thousands of parks and forests at national, state, county, regional, and especially local levels. Each feature is named.

Logical Consistency Report
The shapefile is converted to SDC (Smart Data Compression) format using either tools in ArcGIS or ESRI SDC Data Development Kit Professional 2 (DDKP2). The SDC data set is then imported into a file geodatabase to verify and validate the geometry.
Completeness Report
After processing, the data set is checked for drawing display and number of records and file sizes compared with source materials.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report
Horizontal positional accuracy is dependent on geographic area. In most areas, accuracy is between 5 and 25 meters (16 and 82 feet). In some areas, accuracy is off by up to several tens of meters (100 feet or more). In the poorest areas, accuracy is off by up to 100 meters (328 feet).
