- Abstract
- This is a scanned version of the 1887 paper map entitled: Driving Road Chart of the Country Surrounding New York City published by Hyde Company. The original map is on four sheets, but this reproduction is only of three of those sheets, with the North-eastern most sheet missing. The map was scanned at 300 dots per inch and is in the TIFF format.
- Purpose
- Scanned maps may be used for a variety of purposes. This dataset consists of three tiff images, one for each of the scanned map sheets; these images may be used in a GIS.
- Supplemental Information
- Shows rural householders' names, wards, minor civil divisions, and radial distances from N.Y. City Hall. Depths shown by soundings. "Copyright secured by Hyde Company 1887."
