Abstract
China Prefecture Boundaries (GBK), 222BCE - 1911 CE is a polygon theme representing a time series of prefecture boundaries in China for the period 222 BCE to 1911 CE. Attribute information includes years for which the prefecture is valid. This dataset employs GBK Encoding for Chinese Characters.

Developed by Fudan University, Center for Historical Geography, for the CHGIS project.
