- Abstract
- Shapefile representing tribal areas in Southern Cameroons for 1926. Boundaries were extracted from a scanned British Colonial Office map. Polygons were then given attributes specifying the name and population density of each tribal area.
- Purpose
- For displaying historical boundaries with GIS software.

- Data Quality Information
- Attribute Accuracy Report
- Population density values, but no units of measure, were included on the original map. Using population tables in the map's companion volume, and by calculating the area of each tribal polygon, the appropriate units of measure were inferred. Calculated values did not precisely match the mapmaker's values, but allowance was made for map scale, varying definitions of a mile, and statistical and cartographic error.
