- This polyline data layer represents railroads for Wisconsin in 1998. The dataset was originally published by the Wisconsin Department of Administration on January 12, 1999.[This data layer is a line shapefile of the railroads in Wisconsin as of 1998.]

- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This data layer is for use in generalized mapping applications. The level of accuracy does not support detailed local analysis. The Arc/Info coverage received from WisDOT was originally in WTM27. It was converted into WTM83/91 and a shapefile was created from it.]
