This layer represents the approximate thickness of unconsolidated materials as well as the approximate distribution of the Silurian bedrock in eastern Wisconsin. It a composite of 8 WGNHS published maps which range in having a scale of 1:100,000 to 1:1,000,000. This layer was developed in 2017 and updated in 2022, however the sources used to develop it were published in 1978, 1979, 1982, 2004, 2011, 2013, 2019 and 2021.This layer is part of the 2016-2018 NR 151 target performance standard rule revision. This layer was developed to assist the agricultural community in Wisconsin in maintain compliance with the NR 151 targeted performance standard. It is not recommended to be used for well installation, placement of utility lines, or any other construction or siting practice.
