The Web map shows the spatial relationships of Census Geography.  Census Tracts are relatively permanent geographic units within a County with generally between 2,500 and 8,000 people.Block Groups are statistical divisions of Census Tracts, that generally contain between 600 and 3,000 people, and are used to present data and control block numbering.  A Block Group consists of clusters of Blocks within the same census tract that have the same first digit of their four-digit census block number.  For example, blocks 3001, 3002, 3003, . . ., in census tract 19 belong to Block Group 3 in that census tract.Census Blocks are the smallest geographic unit which is used for tabulation of 100% data.Census Blocks are grouped into Block Groups which are grouped into Census Tracts.Census Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ) are delineated by state and or local transportation officials for tabulating traffic related data.  A TAZ is a group of Census Blocks from one or more Census Blocks and Tracts.2010 and 2016 Model TAZs are a further refinement of the Census TAZ done by the MATPB to take into account future roadways. These TAZs are used in the traffic forecast model. The 2016 TAZs will replace the 2012 TAZs in the next model update.Means of Transportation (CTPP, 2012-2016)  Workplace Census Tract summary of mode used by workers, 15 years and over, to travel to work.  Mode includes Margin of Error (MOE). This layer must be visible to use the "Select Census Tracts to Chart" tool.
