Abstract
[Current extent of site structure address points in the WI NG911 GIS data standards schema, as of March 2026. This schema is nearly identical to the NENA NG911 Standard. This data set is not yet complete, and will be added to as more SSAP data across the state is critical error free and made available. This data set is updated, on a weekly basis.] NG911 address points are precise, GIS-based, site-specific, or structural locations (latitude/longitude) required to accurately route emergency calls to the correct PSAP and dispatch responders. These points, alongside road centerlines and service boundaries, form the foundation of NENA i3 standards, ensuring precise location validation.
Purpose
This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. These NG911 site structure points are digital, geocoded points that represent the specific, actionable location of a, site, or building entrance. They allow for more precise and faster emergency response by providing exact coordinates rather than just a range along a road.
Supplemental Information
This is an archived copy (annual) of the data at UW-Madison. Because of the nature of this content, the dataset is updated weekly on the OEC geoportal.
