- This data group represents hydrography for Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin in 2019 and includes the layers "DNR_24k_Flowline" and "DNR_24k_Waterbody".[DNR_24k_Flowline: Linear Features representing streams and artificial flow through water that are used to form a transport network.DNR_24k_Waterbody: Water features such as Lakes, Reservoirs, Wide Streams and River, and Unspecified Open Water features.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [DNR_24k_Flowline: HydroFlowLine is the framework of the data set and consists of all arcs in Version 6 release coverage HYDNW924 that transport water. HydroFlowLine was created with M (measures) and Z (elevation) values to accommodate placement of user data through a linear referencing system located on the measure system of transport arcs. Features represent blue lines on 1:24,000 scale USGS Topography Quadrangle maps and artificial flow through WaterArea and WaterBody features and across land. HydroFlowLine serves as the input to the Geometric Network. DNR_24k_Waterbody: HydroWaterBody is derived from the REGION.SHAID feature class of Release coverage 6. Subtypes were used to differentiate between WaterArea and WaterBody features. Many of the main attributes with WaterArea features are stored on the FlowLine that flow through them. WaterBody subtype was created to mimic the structure of both the ArcHydro and NHD data models. These data models separate flow features and area features such as lakes and reservoirs from streams and ditches. The separation of subtypes for WaterArea and WaterBody occurred to create relationships between theses features in Topology and Relationship class validation.]
