- Resource provided by UW-Madison Robinson Map Library. Polygon representation of site boundaries where DNR used state funds to hire an environmental contractor to conduct an investigation, and/or a cleanup, because the person responsible for the contamination was unknown, or was unable or unwilling to proceed.Data does not include:1. Hazardous substance 'spills' (i.e., locations where a cleanup confirmed by laboratory analysis is generally completed within 60 to 90 days)2. Some recent sites that are not yet mapped3. Some sites with soil contamination above chapter NR 720 residual contaminant levels for cleanups approved prior to August 1, 20024. Locations where a discharge or potential discharge was reported to the DNR and the DNR determined that no investigation is required5.
